Two injured in apparent early morning shooting

A man and a woman are recovering from what appears to be gunshot wounds following an incident early Monday morning.

Prince George RCMP responded to several reports of a disturbance near the 2200-block of Victoria Street at about 3 a.m.

Officers immediately attended the area. Paramedics transported both victims to hospital for treatment.

The Prince George RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit is leading the investigation.  Members of the police dog service and forensic identification service attended the area to assist.  This incident is believed to be targeted and related to the drug trade.  Both victims are expected to recover. 

Investigators are requesting assistance from the public.  Anyone that has external video cameras in the area, are asked to call the Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300.
