Mayor issues condolences to families of three killed in Econo Lodge fire

Mayor Lyn Hall expressed his condolences to the families of the three people killed in the fire at the Econo Lodge in downtown Prince George last week.

“I wish to extend our condolences and sympathies to the families of the three folks who lost their lives in that fire,” he said Monday before the regular city council meeting. “I also want to extend a huge thank you to our first responders … our firefighters, RCMP, ambulance folks, there was a group of security people there and a number of people who stepped up to really help out that day of the fire.”

Police haven’t yet released a cause of the fire but deemed it as being suspicious in nature. Details on the three people who were killed also have not been released.
