The Exploration Place launched its Nature Exchange Online on Canada Day which will provide family friendly activities for the summer, made possible [in part] by the Government of Canada. There will be weekly Nature Exchange challenges that can be found on their newly created Facebook group and on their website.
“To celebrate Canada Day our first Nature Exchange challenge was to encourage people of all ages to find and take a picture of something red and white in nature and share it with us online to be entered to win a weekly prize,” said Lisa Connor, Assistant Director, “We will also be posting a fun Near and Far photo mystery each week and we will see who can identify an item from nature up close before we reveal the answer.”
They are also hosting a colouring contest and are encouraging people to download their Great Canadian Flag sheet OR the Mr. PG colouring page by Erin Stagg via the City of Prince George webpage and draw a flag that celebrates the natural world that surrounds our community. Finished colouring pages can be emailed to education@theexplorationplace.com to be printed and posted next to a full-size flag on the windows of our atrium.
“We’ve created a few different Atrium window displays for other holidays including Mr. PG’s 60th and National Indigenous Peoples Day,” said Connor. “It’s great to see park visitors stop outside our Atrium windows to enjoy the different displays.”
The museum remains closed due to the pandemic. You can follow them on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and see their animal ambassadors on their You Tube Channel as well.
