Homicide investigation underway

A 26-year-old woman is dead after apparently being stabbed in front of the Prince George Courthouse Thursday.

Prince George police were called out at about 10 p.m. Officers discovered the woman suffering from what appeared to be at least one stab wound.  Members administered first aid until paramedics arrived on scene.  She was transported to hospital for treatment.  Officers secured the area and the Prince George RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit was called in to lead the investigation.

Earlier this morning, the victim passed away in hospital as a result of the injuries she sustained.

This investigation is in the early stages and significant resources have been deployed to assist.  Police wish to speak to anyone that may have witnessed this incident or anyone that may have information.
