
Method Dance Society has named its first company dancer for the upcoming 2020/21 Season – Method: Northern Identities.
Ashley Burmaster was born and raised in Prince George. She is a product of Judy Russell’s Dance Studio where she continues to train and teach today. After graduating high school Burmaster moved to Toronto where she expanded her craft through Conteur Dance Academy and a number of various other projects.
A total of nine dancers will be announced over the coming weeks, along with a video campaign highlighting each dancer’s contribution to the company. All dancers are professional performing artists currently practicing in northern B.C. Method Dance Society will provide a new platform for these artists to share their talent with Prince George and the surrounding region.
As the first not-for-profit dance company to exist in Prince George, Method hopes to
bring the contemporary performing arts to a wide variety of audiences in the North. The
Society was founded by in 2020 by choreographer/ dancer Shelby Richardson, in
order to enhance the outreach capacity for contemporary performing artists in the
region. The society will host open community workshops on contemporary dance, as
well as providing captivating and engaging contemporary productions.
