School will be back in session Monday, more or less. The return to classes is optional for students.
Parents who indicated that their children will be returning should have received a letter from their school with an attendance schedule and safety protocols due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The district has not said how many students it expects to be returning to class on Monday.
The district will provide busing for students, under new protocols that support physical distancing and enhanced cleaning.
“Our goal is to have all of our playground structures reopened by June 5 across the district,” superintendent Anita Richardson said in a letter to parents. “As is consistent with playgrounds across the province, the playgrounds will not be cleaned or disinfected. Children using the playgrounds as part of their onsite learning day will be required to wash their hands before and after using the equipment, avoid touching their face, and minimize physical contact with others.”
