The #lunchboxchallenge, was started by the Scott Construction Group in Vancouver to show appreciation for essential construction workers during COVID-19 and to help local restaurants affected by the pandemic. The concept is for a construction company to buy their workers lunch and have it delivered to the jobsite while supporting local restaurants at the same time.
The #lunchboxchallenge caught the attention of the BC Construction Association (BCCA) and a challenge to NRCA soon followed.
“These are difficult times and the Northern Regional Construction Association realized in the midst of hardship that we wanted to thank our construction workers and local businesses for the work they do in our community,” said Scott Bone NRCA CEO. “Participating in the #lunchboxchallenge was a great way for us to show our appreciation.”
Thirty construction workers hired by IDL Projects working on the new City of Prince George Fire Hall thoroughly enjoyed individual pizzas provided by Crossroads Brewing today.
