No injuries in early morning shooting

Police are currently investigating an early morning shooting in the city.

At approximately 2:30 a.m. on Monday, the Prince George RCMP received a report of shots fired near Sixth Avenue and Alward Street in Prince George.

Several officers attended the area immediately.  Evidence of a shooting was found in an alley nearby.  No victims or suspects were initially located.

Later this morning, a vehicle associated to an address near the scene was located with what appear to be bullet holes.  Police talked to the driver, but the driver is not cooperating with police at this time.

The investigation has led officers to believe that this incident was targeted and related to the drug trade. The Prince George RCMP have allocated a number of resources to this investigation with the goal of identifying the person or persons involved.  Further details may be released as they become available.

If you have any information about this incident or the person or persons involved, please contact the Prince George RCMP at (250)561-3300 or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1(800)222-8477 or online at www.pgcrimestoppers.bc.ca (English only).  You do not have to reveal your identity to Crime Stoppers.  If you provide information that leads to an arrest, you could be eligible for a cash reward.
