AiMHi is looking for help as the association hopes to craft 1,000 masks over the Easter weekend.
AiMHi has 450 employees providing support to many people in the community who are susceptible to serious effects from the coronavirus.
Following the recent CDC recommendations and information that these masks may reduce risk of exposure and may help slow the spread of this virus AiMHI is hoping to make 1,000 masks as quickly as they can.
AiMHi has 25 volunteers getting started on these masks right now. If you have some time to give and want to support them with their goal there will be many grateful to you for your help. See the video below for instructions on how to make the masks.
This link to a mask pattern can be sewn from cotton sheets, it is quite easy to sew and fits well. If you need supplies, contact the AiMHi on Facebook page and they will arrange for you to receive the things you need to get started.
Masks can be dropped off at 950 Kerry Street on Tuesday April 14 , or contact the Facebook page to arrange pick up.
One thousand might seem like a big number, with many people doing a little bit, it doesn’t seem so big.
