GoFundMe campaign set up to raise funds for Prince George Legion

Because of the ongoing and developing Covid 19 Crisis, the Prince George Legion Branch #43 has had to close its doors and cease regular operations. A GoFundMe campaign has been established by Naomi Kavka to raise money for Legion #43. Any donation will help make an impact in helping keep our operations going.

“The Covid Crisis will continue for an indeterminable amount of time, and that kind of uncertainty makes it difficult for us to set a specific fundraising goal,” she writers in her GoFundMe post. “At this point, any amount of contribution will help pay our rent, cover our utilities, pay our insurance and also allow us to continue serving veterans during this very uncertain time in our history. As it stands, our monthly costs are currently around $7,700/month and we are anticipating this event lasting as least until the end of July. Therefore, our goal is being set at $20,000. In the meantime, we are also seeking grant opportunities and other financial aid, as well as trying to defer some of our payments. Even with those, we will still need help to continue operating once this pandemic is over. Donations of any amount will help us and we are so grateful for any contribution.”

So far, $935 has been raised.

One action that can help more than anything is to become a member of the Royal Canadian Legion.  Check out the Legion Website for information about membership.
