With teachers in School District 57 set to return from spring break on Monday, without students, work now begins on developing ‘continuity of learning’ plans for those students.
The province announced on March 17 that it was suspending in-class instruction for students across the province due to the COVID-19 pandemic and that districts will have to figure out how to continue educating students.
In a video address released Friday afternoon, School District 57 Superintendent Anita Richardson said the first thing teachers returning to work Monday will be doing is contacting all of their students to update their personal information.
The district will be emailing a letter to parents and guardians today. If you don’t receive one, contact the district on Monday, she said.
Richardson didn’t get into details, however, added she will be providing regular updates as the systems for learning are developed.
