Woman recovering from stabbing Sunday, Kelowna woman facing charges

A woman is recovering after being stabbed Sunday morning. A second woman has been arrested and is facing charges.

The incident occurred shortly after 10 a.m. Sunday morning in the 1200-block of Second Avenue in Prince George.

Prince George RCMP say the suspect was located and arrested near Fourth Avenue and Queensway less than 10 minutes after the initial call to police.

The victim was treated and transported to hospital by paramedics.  Injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Mandy Kathaleen Trahan, 28, from Kelowna, has been charged by the BC Prosecution Service with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Assault causing bodily harm
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
