Further to the mandate by the province that gatherings of more than 250 people be avoided, the board of directors of the Canadian Home Builders’ Northern BC have cancelled the 43rd annual Northern BC Home & Garden Show, scheduled for April 24-26.
“We are mindful that the COVID-19 declared pandemic is fluid and subject to daily if not hourly updates; our primary responsibility is to contribute to the health and well being of communities in our region,” said association president Jody Tindill. “We want to ensure that vendors, event partners and service providers are provided with as much notice as possible so that they are able to adjust their possible travel and staffing plans and perhaps revisit planned revenue and expense budgets with the absence of the annual home show. There is a financial impact to the association with the absence of the home show and we will do the same.
“Our deepest regrets, however, our association and community are resilient and we will work together to meet the challenges ahead. We will announce the dates for 2021 shortly”.
