Giscome school remains closed due to train derailment; students bused to Blackburn

Due to the closure of Upper Fraser Road as the result of a train derailment on Thursday morning, Giscome Elementary School will remain closed on Friday.

Staff and students from Giscome Elementary will be re-routed to Blackburn Elementary for Friday March 6. Buses will pick up students at their regular times and transport them to Blackburn Elementary. Giscome students who live beyond the road closure will not be picked up, nor be expected to attend school. If families have made alternate arrangements for transportation, students will be attending Blackburn Elementary.

Students who attend Prince George Secondary and live beyond the road closure will not be transported by bus to and from school on March 6. As a result, students will not be expected to attend.
