Theatre NorthWest and Judy Russell Presents are teaming up for joint auditions.

“We have a very talented pool of local artists, and whether they are full time or part time performers, we want to see them have the opportunity to do what they love in the community they live in,” said Judy Russell, owner of Judy Russell Presents, in a news release. “By doing joint auditions, we can see a large number of artists, and we can save the artist from having to audition over and over again.”

Theatre NorthWest is looking for young women for their November/December musical production, something that is fast becoming a tradition at the theatre. Judy Russell Presents is looking for rock opera and musical theatre artists of all ages and genders to perform in their 2020 productions. Each organization is looking for something different, but there will naturally be a lot of crossover and working together helps the producers and the artist save time and money.

“We have all worked together behind the scenes for so long, sharing props, costumes, supplies and expertise that we thought it was high time we talked about it in public,” said Marnie Hamagami Executive Director of Theatre NorthWest. “When one group does well, we all do well. Not to mention that working together is a lot of fun.”

Auditions will be held at Enchainement Dance Centre Friday March 6 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.; at Theatre NorthWest on Saturday March 7 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.; and at the Prince George Playhouse Sunday March 8 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Interested parties should bring a head shot and resume, prepare 16 bars of an appropriate song, be prepared to move and possibly read.

Please email JRPandTNWauditions2020@gmail.com to request a rehearsal time please include in the email the age of the auditioning participant.
