The Rotary Club of Prince George Yellowhead has announced that a second program – Adventures in Health Care – Peace River – is opening its doors to at least 20 high school students this coming April 29-30.
With the addition of Adventures in Health Care – Peace River, Rotary will reach up to 70 high school students in 2020.
“We are excited with the expansion of the Adventures in Health Care concept into the Peace River region,” said Ron Davis, co-chair. “We are continuing conversations with other regions for further expansion targeting 2021.”
Adventures in Health Care – Peace River is spearheaded by School District 60 – Peace River South, in partnership with Northern Health, Northern Lights College, the Sunrise Rotary Club of Dawson Creek and other school districts in the Peace River area.
Adventures in Health Care – Prince George is an annual event that enables young northern British Columbians to come together to gain a better understanding and increased awareness of what health care means.
Students receive hands on medical training in collaboration with program partners Northern Medical Program – UBC – UNBC, Northern Health Authority, BC Cancer Center for the North, AiMHi, the College of New Caledonia and School District 57.
The Rotary Club of Prince George Yellowhead has been serving Prince George, B.C., and beyond since its charter in 1977.
