The City of Prince George is inviting residents to see the design of the new downtown pool during two public information sessions at the Prince George Conference and Civic Centre on February 20.
The sessions will be held in Room 201 from noon to 2 p.m. and from 5-7 p.m. with presentations by HDR Architects, the firm designing the new pool, at 12:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
Representatives from HDR, the City of Prince George, and the construction management firm Chandos will be on-hand during the events to talk to residents and answer questions. The events will include elements that will give residents a sense of the look and feel of the new pool, and present information about its features and the progress made so far:
- Drawings and perspectives showing the development of the pool project to-date
- Three dimensional images to allow viewers to “look around” inside the new facility
- Project timelines
The facility will replace the aging Four Seasons Leisure Pool. During a 2017 referendum, 62 per cent of those who cast ballots elected to allow the city to borrow the funds necessary to build a new downtown pool.
The location of the new pool will be at Seventh Avenue and Quebec Street in downtown Prince George. The Four Seasons will remain open until the new pool is ready for use.
Construction on the new pool is scheduled to begin later this year. For further information about the new pool, please visit www.princegeorge.ca/newpool.
