Gun, shot up vehicle found in connection to attempted murder investigation

Prince George RCMP are continuing to investigate the attempted murder that happened Wednesday morning.

Police have been conducting further neighbourhood inquiries in relation to the targeted shooting that occurred the night before.

A member of the public approached officers and advised that they had found a handgun in a snow bank on Moss Avenue.  The gun was seized as evidence.

A short time later, police received a report of a suspicious vehicle on Upland Street.  Frontline officers attended and found a Chevrolet SUV with broken windows and damage that appeared to be from several bullet holes.  The vehicle was seized as part of this investigation.

This incident was a targeted attack and directly associated to the drug trade, say police.  Investigators have no reason to believe the general public is at risk.  This investigation is continuing and is a priority for the Detachment.

Police continue to request the public’s help with this investigation.  If you have any information about this serious Criminal offence, please contact the Prince George RCMP at (250)561-3300 or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1(800)222-8477 or online at www.pgcrimestoppers.bc.ca (English only).  You do not have to reveal your identity to Crime Stoppers.  If you provide information that leads to an arrest, you could be eligible for a cash reward.
