After an increase from 25 submissions in 2018 to 40 submissions in 2019, the Teen Art Showcase is back in 2020 for a third year. The month-long exhibition of work by teen artists in grades 8-12 is the result of a partnership between the Community Arts Council of Prince George and District and the Prince George Public Library. The pieces will be on display at Bob Harkins Branch from February 3-29. Members of the public can view the art any time the branch is open.
Each artist can submit one piece in any medium of their choice. Artists should prepare their pieces for exhibition and determine if they’d like to sell their pieces. Submissions must be dropped off at Studio 2880 at 2880 15th Avenue on Friday, January 31 or Saturday, February 1 between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Cash prizes will be awarded in the following categories: Most Original, Best Use of Materials, People’s Choice, Best Overall and Social Commentary. The prizes will be awarded at a celebration for the artists on Saturday, February 29 at Bob Harkins Branch. The showcase was made possible with support from the Friends of the Library and the Kiwanis Club of Prince George.
