Extreme cold warning issued for Prince George

Bundle up or stay indoors. Environment Canada has issued an extreme cold warning for Prince George as a period of very cold wind chills are expected.

Bitterly cold arctic air will remain entrenched over the area for several days.

North winds combined with cold temperatures will create wind chill values near-40 degrees Celsius.

Extreme cold puts everyone at risk. Cover up. Frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with wind chill.

Extreme cold warnings are issued when very cold temperatures or wind chill creates an elevated risk to health such as frost bite and hypothermia.
