Twenty-six railcars derailed at Moose Lake near Jasper Thursday morning.
CN media relations senior advisor Alexandre Boulé told Global News that the derailment happened about 30 kilometres east of Mount Robson. There were no injuries in the derailment and Boule said the train was not carrying dangerous goods. The train was carrying potash and a couple of the cars ended up partially submerged in Moose Lake.
The cause of the derailment is under investigation.
Hat tip to the hardworking @cn teams who keep supplies moving. It’s -23 at the Yellowhead pass and they’re dealing with a major derailment. pic.twitter.com/6wl3TOw01Q
