Hang on to your shovels, snow is coming

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for Prince George for Monday.

A total of 15 to 20 centimetres of snow is expected to fall between Monday morning and Tuesday morning as a warm front moves across the area.

Snow will begin overnight for areas near Vanderhoof and Fort St. James, then spread into the Prince George and Quesnel areas by Monday morning and lastly into the McGregor region by midday.

For the Prince George region, area highways will likely see more snow than the city so travellers are advised to exercise caution.

Some areas may see a brief break in the snow early Monday afternoon but the snow will resume late Monday afternoon and end Monday night.

Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance. Take frequent breaks and avoid strain when clearing snow.
