The North Central Bobcats split a weekend doubleheader with OMAHA North Zone in midget double-A play in Sicamous on the weekend. The Bobcats won 4-2 on Saturday and fell 2-1 on Sunday.
In Saturday’s win, Kaden Beck scored twice for the Bobcats, while Jake Nohr and Nicolas Braaten had singles. The Bobats had a 3-0 lead in the third period before Cody Beckner broke Kenny Gerow’s shutout bid. Caleb Vander Kooi also scored for OMAHA North.
On Sunday, Kaien Tait of the Bobcats opened the scoring half way through the second but OMAHA North responded with goals 18 seconds apart in the final three minutes of the period. Tenzin Bogardis and Garrett Dale did the damage.
The next league games for the Bobcats are Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 in Kamloops against OMAHA Thompson Zone.
