A commercial vehicle apparently struck and killed a 66-year-old Fraser Lake man Tuesday.
Fraser Lake RCMP responded to a report of a body on the road by the local shopping mall at about 8 a.m.
They discovered the man deceased at the scene and evidence suggested that he was struck by a commercial vehicle. Investigation led police to identify the vehicle involved and that vehicle has been seized by police for forensic examination. The driver, owner/operator is cooperating with police.
“While the investigation continues, causal factors have yet to be determined,” said Sgt. Jason Rumming, NCO i/c Fraser Lake RCMP. “Police can confirm that alcohol was not involved.”
The RCMP would like to speak to anyone who may have been in the area of the shopping mall and along Endako Ave between 7:30 to 8:00 AM and may have dash-cam footage, to call police.
