Bennett continues as School District 57 board chair

Tim Bennett will serve another year as chair of the School District 57 board of education.

Bennett was re-elected as chair at the board’s inaugural meeting Wednesday in Prince George.

I am so proud to be serving our communities with this team of caring, honest and passionate trustees,” he said in a Facebook post. “They work so hard in support of our students and staff. We don’t always agree but that is why the community elects seven people to form the corporate board … I will continue to work hard in support of our District, staff and students.”

Trustee Trent Derrick was elected as vice-chair of the board, replacing trustee Sharel Warrington.

Trustee Ron Polillo who will remain as the board’s British Columbia School Trustee Association provincial councillor and trustee Betty Bekkering will be the board’s representative on the BCPSEA Rep Council.
