Blind Melon and Soul Asylum, with Bif Naked coming to CN Centre April 18

Soul Asylum

For the first time, Blind Melon, Soul Asylum and Bif Naked will rock the CN Centre stage on Saturday, April 18, 2020.

Tickets go on sale Friday, November 8, 10 a.m., at TicketsNorth.

Twenty-five years after the release of their self-titled debut – an album that fused southern psych-rock influences with 90s-era alt-grunge – Blind Melon is returns to tour. Despite the fact that the band’s breakout single, No Rain, became one of the most indelible music videos of the 90s, or any era for that matter, Blind Melon’s return is no exercise in nostalgia.

With new members and new material defined by powerhouse harmonies, the band sounds both fresh and familiar.

Nearly overnight, Blind Melon topped Billboard charts and shredded through a set at Woodstock 94. Unfortunately, in 1995, tragedy struck a few weeks after their second album’s release, Soup, when the group’s original and iconic vocalist, Shannon Hoon, died from a cocaine overdose. Over a decade after Hoon’s death, Blind Melon finally found a suitable replacement and reunited. The addition of Travis Warren, who possessed Hoon’s range and raspy edge, as well as his own musical ideas, pushed the band into new territory culminating with the 2008 release of For My Friends.

Also featured on this amazing night are Soul Asylum and Bif Naked.
