Someone took the bait

The RCMP’s bait car proved effective Saturday.

At about 1 a.m. officers assigned to the Downtown Safety Unit located and arrested a woman they found inside a bait vehicle parked near the corner of Seventh Avenue and Brunswick Street.

Within seconds of entering the vehicle, the woman had removed a number of bait items, including two rifle cases, and was going back for more when officers arrived.

The BC Prosecution Service have approved a charge of theft under $5,000 against 36-year-old Virginia Anne Denning of Prince George:

Denning has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in provincial court in Prince George on Wednesday October 30.
