Mackenzie Kerr isn’t done with politics.
Even though Green Party candidate polled in fourth place in Cariboo-Prince George, finishing with 4,920 votes, politics seems to have gotten into her blood.
“I’m definitely not an expert in politics and, surprisingly, I still want to be a politician,” she said on election night. This run has been incredible.”
Kerr more than doubled the Green Party support in the riding, which, overall, went back to being solidly Conservative. In 2015, the Green Party captured only 1,860 votes in the riding, for 3.6 per cent. Kerr’s 4,920 votes are 9.1 per cent of the popular vote.
“I’m absolutely astounded at the support we’ve been getting,” she said. “This experience has been life-changing. We got to travel almost the entire riding, speaking to people about what is really important to them.”
