The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George will be renewing its agreement with the City of Prince George for economic development marketing services.
As part of the agreement, the city will be the primary point of contact for investment inquiries suited to industrial sites within the regional district. It will also oversee updating of existing marketing materials for all industrial sites within the regional district.
The contract is for three years and is valued at a total of $15,000.
Borrowing for 9-1-1 service enhancements approved
The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George will be moving forward with plans to borrow up to $3 million for enhancements to the regional 9-1-1 service.
The proposed enhancements include relocating the centre that dispatches fire departments within the service area (FOCC) to the new Prince George Fire Hall currently under construction as well as the development of a back-up location.
The system will also be upgraded as technologies have evolved and to meet federal requirements for Next Generation 9-1-1 by 2023. The total budget for this project is about $5 million.
Approval for the borrowing follows the completion of an alternative approval process, where less than 10 per cent of voters submitted a response to the proposed borrowing.
Regional District providing feedback to Ministry of Agriculture to support farmers
The Ministry of Agriculture, in conjunction with the Agricultural Land Commission are seeking input on how the province and the Commission can best support farmers and ranchers in the ALR.
The Regional District will be making a submission with input on supporting new and beginning farmers, farm business expansion and diversification and flexibility. The Regional District will also look for clarification on changes to exclusion process.
