Healthier You Expo set for Sunday

The 13th annual Healthier You Expo is nearly here.
Explore the latest and greatest in health, wellness and personal growth at this family event on Sunday, October 20. Northern Health will have team members on site issuing free flu shots once again this year and, best of all, the event is free.
Plus the YMCA of Northern BC will be hosting a kids play area and Canadian Tire has very generously donated a bicycle and helmet for a special prize giveaway at the show!

Show hours this year are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and the event will be hosted at the Prince George Conference and Civic Centre. 
Speakers and presenter schedule (subject to change) this year includes: 
  • 10:10   Welcome and opening remarks 
  • 10:20   Tai Chi (demonstration) – Paz Milburn 
  • 10:45  Choose to Move (presentation) Shannon Johnson – Centre Manager at the YMCA of Northern BC, CSEP Personal Trainer  
  • 11:10 Dance North (demonstration) Swing/Hustle/Cha Cha – Paz Milburn and Peter Weedon 
  • 11:35 Healthy Brain (presentation) Laurie De Croos, LPN –  Support & Education Coordinator First Link® & Minds in Motion Coordinator Alzheimer Society of BC Northern Interior Resource Centre 
  • 12:10 Senior Fit (demonstration) Cheryl Green – YMCA Certified Group Fitness Instructor, Weight Room Instructor 
  • 12:35 Cardiac and Pulmonary Program (presentation) Sandy Kennedy – Registered Physiotherapist and Katy Armstrong YMCA Certified Personal Trainer, Chronic Disease Management Supervisor
  • 1:10 Kitchen Confidence (presentation) Beth Oehler – Registered Dietitian
