Parade of Homes set for Sunday, October 20

For anyone thinking of renovating or updating their current home, or purchasing a newly built one, this is the opportunity to compare styles, floor plans, décor and neighbourhoods and even meet the builder.

The Canadian Home Builders’ Northern BC is hosting the annual fall Parade of Homes on Sunday October 20,  from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is free to participate and there is no pre-registration required.

Check in at the home base house at 4096 Brink Place located in the lovely Nechako View subdivision and start the day off with a free RONA pancake breakfast between 9 a.m. and noon, grab a coffee to go and a map to drive yourself or hop on the free parade bus and let the Canadian Home Builders’ Northern BC  host you. The parade bus departs the home base house at 11 a.m. and again at 2 p.m.

“Last year the morning bus was full with the over-flow waiting for the afternoon run, so please make certain that you arrive at least 15 minutes in advance of the departure time and it’s pretty much load in while seats last,” said Terri McConnachie, Executive Officer for the Canadian Home Builder’s Northern BC, “We visit all of the homes on the map and as we approach each one, I have the opportunity to introduce the company and provide a builder profile along with a quick overview of each home. Folks win contests and prizes while we travel. It’s a ton of fun.”

Not an early riser? The Northern Regional Construction Association is sponsoring a free hot dog lunch from noon until 2 p.m., also at the home base house at 4096 Brink Place. Shaw is once again hosting a parade scavenger hunt with clues hidden in each of the homes on the map and a chance to win a prize; required contest forms are at the home base.

An important home on the map is the 2019 Hospice Dream Home lottery house, built by Lithium One Construction. Get your tickets to win and support Hospice Prince George while you enjoy the event.

Check www.paradeofhomespg.ca for more information and a downloadable map will be posted Friday October 18, just prior to the Parade of Homes event. Join in on social media #paradeofhomespg.
