Hatchet-wielding man robs store

Police are hoping the public can help identify a man who robbed a local store with a hatchet Saturday.

Police say that at approximately 7:15 p.m., the Prince George RCMP received a report of a robbery with a weapon at a business near the intersection of First Avenue and Tabor Boulevard.

A man entered the business, produced a hatchet and demanded cash.  The suspect fled on foot with a small amount of cash.

All attempts to locate and identify the suspect have been negative so far.

The suspect is described as:

  • Male
  • Brown eyes
  • Slim build
  • Wearing a “Billabong” hoody, blue jeans, a black toque, and a scarf over his face

An employee of the business cooperated and was not physically injured.
