Northern FanCon is a go for 2020.
A Kickstarter campaign launched in August has raised more than the $100,000 needed to keep the annual event going next year. The 349 contributors to the campaign raised $103,322. However, it wasn’t done without a huge push in the final few days.
Norm Coyne, owner UNTLD Media Events, issued a plea for support on Thursday, saying they, at that time, had only raised $54,000. Support poured in over the weekend, including a major donation from Great White Toys Games and Comics.
Next year will be the first year the event will have to go it alone as a five-year contract with the Prince George Citizen expired this year, necessitating the fund raising.
