Preston Brodziak was the lone goal scorer for the Prince George Spruce Kings Sunday as they dropped a 5-1 decision to the Coquitlam Express.
After a scoreless first period, the Express took over the game in the second, scoring three unanswered goals in the middle frame.
They had built up a 4-0 lead before Brodziak ruined Clay Stevenson’s shut out bid. Stevenson stopped all 12 of the Spruce Kings’ other shots. Meanwhile, at the other end, Spruce Kings netminder Jack McGovern stopped 30 of 35 shots fired his way.
Danny Pearson scored twice for the Express while James Bohn, Bradley Ong, and Cooper Connell each added singles.
