Prince George is known as a last-minute town.
Prince George Hospice would like to change that … just a little bit. And, they want Prince George residents to participate in ‘Dream Big for Hospice Day,’ which is tomorrow, September 18.
“We’re going to dream big and try to sell 1,000 tickets in one day on the Hospice Dream Home lottery,” says Sandra Klimm of Prince George Hospice. “We always struggle the last minute to sell out this lottery. Why can’t we sell it out sooner and get it done and make sure that we sell out, which is the most important thing for us.”
The Dream Home lottery is the society’s biggest fundraiser of the year and, for just $100, you can purchase a ticket, giving you a chance to win the $640,000 dream home at 4034 Brink Drive.
They are dreaming big and they’re going to have some help with their first ever radiothon.
Tune in to Vista Radio, which will be on location all day at the Hospice Dream Home, and listen to some well-known Prince George residents.
“Every hour we’ll have three to four celebrity ticket sellers,” says Klimm. “Those people are going to get on the phone and call all their friends, family and encourage people to come down and buy their tickets during the time that they’re there.”
All the celebrity ticket sellers will have some on-air time.
“We want them to share the stories that they have supporting hospice,” she says. “Everyone’s been touched by hospice, one way or another.”
There will also be some great prizes given away. Anyone who purchases their Dream Home Lottery ticket … at the house, Canadian Tire, online, by phone, or at the Hospice office … will be eligible for prizes, including Cougars tickets and Vista Radio has donated $500 of the Hospice 50/50 tickets. By the way, that 50/50 draw is now sitting at just under $70,000 and will continue to grow.
There is one more early bird draw left before the final draw for the home, which will be held October 25.
