Three people are facing charges following a robbery at a local retail store, while two others remain at large after a separate incident at the same store.
Just after noon on Tuesday the Prince George RCMP received a report of a robbery that took place at Best Buy on Walls Avenue.
A male suspects and a woman removed products from the shelf and rushed toward the exit, avoiding the checkout counter. While approaching the exit, a member of the staff was threatened by the two male suspects, one of whom was brandishing a knife. All three suspects exited the store and fled on bikes. No one was injured.
Several officers responded, however the suspects were not immediately located.
Through investigation, officers were able to identify and arrest the two men believed to be responsible on Wednesday September 11.
Keenan Frank Sam of Prince George has been charged with robbery, possession of weapon dangerous to public peace, uttering threats, and four counts of failing to comply with probation.
A 15-year-old boy, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has also been charged with robbery and possession of weapon dangerous to the public peace.
Both have been held in custody until their next court date scheduled for September 18.
A charge of theft under $5,000 has been levied against 19-year-old Chelise Danika Johnny of Prince George and a warrant has been issued for her arrest.
Johnny is described as:
• First Nations female
• 163 cm (5’4”)
• 50 kg (110 lbs)
• Brown hair
• Brown eyes
The above incident is the second robbery at this retail store in a week. Just before 1 p.m. on Tuesday September 3, the Prince George RCMP received a report of a robbery at the same store.
Two male suspects attempted to walk out of the store with merchandise valued at over $500. One suspect pulled what appeared to be a knife and threatened staff before leaving.
Both suspects fled on bikes, but not before an alert witness took photos.Officers attended the area, however the two were not located. Attempts to identify the suspects have been negative so far. Investigators are hoping the public can help.
The first suspect is described as:
• Male
• Dark hair with a full beard
• Tattoo on the left side of his neck
• Wearing a green camo ball cap, black hoody with red writing on the front & white writing on the arm, blue jeans and black runners
The second suspect is described as:
• First Nations male
• Dark hair
• Wearing a black hoody, black ball cap with a “P” on the front, white runners, and grey track pants with a white stripe down the side
Both suspects had back packs. Investigators believe these two suspects are not the two that were arrested on September 11th in relation to the second robbery.
