BC Hydro says the power outages that struck across northern B.C. last night was likely caused by a lightning strike.
Forty-three outages were reported across northern B.C., leaving 54,582 customers in the dark.
Large outages in northern BC tonight are caused by a suspected lightning strike. Crews are beginning restoration efforts across the region, working to restore all customers in the next few hours. Most of #cityofPG has been restored and we expect most customers back by 12:30am.
