The Northern Capitals skated to a pair of victories in their first two exhibition games of the season.
The Capitals, who compete in the B.C. Hockey Female Midget Triple-A League, beat the Fraser Valley Rush 3-2 on Saturday in Williams Lake and 3-1 on Sunday in 100 Mile House.
In the first game, Hailey Armstrong scored the winning goal with 29 seconds left in the third period. The Caps also got goals from Destiny Bautista and Brette Kerley. Cadence Petitclerc-Crosby was in net for the win.
In the second game, Bautista, Brooke Norkus and Pyper Alexander did the offensive damage for the Northern Capitals, while goaltender Tessa Sturgeon picked up the win between the pipes.
The Capitals will continue exhibition play on Thursday in Calgary, where they will take to the ice in the Firestarter Showcase.
The 30-game regular season will get going on Oct. 4 with a league showcase in the Lower Mainland.
