Several items stolen from residence south of Valemount

On Wednesday June 19, Valemount RCMP were called to the scene of a break and enter to a residence on Highway 5, south of the town.

When police arrive they discover the doors to the home had been forced open
as well as the door to the shed. Items taken from the property are:

  • A Honda 50cc motorcycle
  • Two chain saws
  • Multiple snowmobile helmets and goggles
  • Video cameras
  • Various Tools
  • Six avalanche beacons.

“Valemount RCMP are urging those within the community to be vigilant, and remember to keep their doors locked when not at home,” said Const. Rob Riemer, Valemount RCMP. “There have been a number of reported Break and Enters in the community that occur while people are away from their homes.
As in everything, a community is strongest when it works together.”

Police are asking for the communities help in preventing similar offences by locking your doors, keeping an eye out for one another’s properties, and reporting suspicious activity to the police

If you have any information regarding this, or any other offence, please contact the Valemount RCMP at 250 566-4466 or Crime Stoppers at 1 800 222-8477
