Crews with the City of Prince George will begin an operation on Tuesday, August 6, to help maintain high water quality in the Hart by flushing watermains between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday to Friday, until about the end of August.
Consequently, residents throughout the Hart neighbourhood may notice cloudy water and a slight drop in water pressure for a few hours each day until the operation is completed. Although the water is safe to drink, the project may stir up iron deposits in the watermains so residents may wish to store some water for drinking and avoid doing laundry from 8:30am to 3:00pm while the system is being flushed to reduce the risk of laundry discolouration.
The flushing is part of the city’s regular water system maintenance program that occurs each summer to ensure residents continue to have access to top quality water.
