Suspects arrested after fleeing from a stolen Ford pickup

Two men are behind bars tonight after they were caught fleeing from a stolen pickup truck Tuesday morning.

Just after 5 a.m. the Prince George RCMP received a report of a stolen Ford F-250 truck from a residence on Nation Crescent in Prince George.

At approximately 9 a.m., an officer with the Prince George RCMP observed a similar vehicle near Fifth Avenue and Highway 97.  By the time the officer was able to safely turn around, the vehicle was gone.

Minutes later, police received several reports that a white Ford F-series truck had collided with another vehicle near the Simon Fraser Bridge.  The driver did not stop.

The vehicle proceeded across the bridge where it collided with another truck near the entrance to the BCR Industrial site.  The suspect driver and a passenger exited the damaged truck.  At least one suspect attempted to take an occupied vehicle, but were unsuccessful.  The two suspects fled on foot in different directions.  A brief foot chase ensued and both were arrested shortly after.  A 31-year-old man and an 18-year-old man are in custody.  The vehicle they were in, was confirmed to be the same vehicle that was stolen earlier today.

The entire incident from the time of the first call to police to the time of the arrests, took place in less than 10 minutes.  No injuries have been reported.
