Social media leads police to recovery of stolen property

On Sunday , a Prince George RCMP officer was monitoring social media and came across a post about a suspicious camp next to Shesta Lake, off the Blackwater Road.  The officer recognized a vehicle in the photos as being recently reported stolen.

The officer attended the rural area and located the camp, vacant.  A Ford pickup found at the site was confirmed stolen from Clear Lake Road on the morning of June 30.  Clear Lake Road is not far from Shesta Lake.

A police computer check of a tent trailer in the camp found it to have been stolen from Quaw Avenue in Prince George on June 16.  The tent trailer was in the process of being painted.

These two items and a homemade cargo trailer believed to have been stolen, were seized as part of the investigation.  This investigation is continuing as officers work to identify the person or persons responsible.
