Kidsport to benefit from masters badminton championships

The 72nd annual Canadian Masters Badminton Championship is coming to Prince George and the North Central Badminton Academy (NCBA) has announced its charity of choice is Kidsport Prince George.

As the host club for the championship, “choosing our charity of choice was an easy one,” said Shara Schenk, President of the NCBA. “While we specifically run badminton programs for youth and adults, we encourage youth to lead healthy active lives, regardless of the sport or activity they choose. All youth should be able to participate in any sport of choice without any financial barriers.”

KidSport Prince George is made up of a volunteer board that is dedicated to providing sport grants to ensure that all children in Prince George can play organized sports.

“We believe that no child should be left on the sidelines and that all children should be given the opportunity to experience the positive benefits of organized sport,” said Johanna Jenkins, President of Kidsport Prince George.

KidSport provides sport grants to remove financial barriers so families can provide their children with the ability to play organized sport.
