Friends of the Library book sale begins today

The Friends of the Prince George Public Library are taking their pay-what-you-want book sale to the Hart this weekend.

The Nechako Book Sale runs today and tomorrow with all proceeds supporting a renovation of the Nechako Branch multi-purpose room. Friday is a ‘members only’ preview from 4–8 p.m.; memberships are available at the door for $5. Everyone is welcome from 10 a.m.  to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 15.

Also today, library staff will kick off sales of Nechako Branch branded library cards; the cards are available for a minimum donation of $5. Proceeds from the library cards will also help to fund the renovation. Regular library cards are still available at no cost.

The Friends of the Library book sales raise approximately $10,000 annually and this is the first time that the funds have been specifically earmarked for Nechako Branch.

The multi-purpose room is used for programs for all ages. The renovation will open up the room to allow more natural light, create better sight-lines and to make additional space for patrons to read and socialize whenever programs are not in progress.
