A man is missing and presumed drowned after he was swept away in the Peace River near the Peace Canyon Bridge.
Police say they received a report shortly before 6 p.m. Wednesday that a 39-year-old Alberta man was seen in the water and swept away with the fast rising water.
RCMP officers, fire rescue, SAR and BC EHS responded immediately. RCMP conducted a marine search while SAR conducted a shore line search. Fire rescue were positioned along the shoreline to aid in the search.
With darkness fast approaching. The search was suspended overnight and resumed Thursday morning. PEP were contacted and will fly over the area to assist in the search.
RCMP have spoken with family of the missing man and at this time police will not be releasing his identity.
