Heather Park Elementary School will be the scene of a community appreciation barbecue for all Hart residents Friday evening.
It is being held in appreciation of those who supported the construction of an accessible playground at the school
It took seven years to raise the money for the playground, which is accessible playground, so children with all abilities get to play.
There were some local businesses who stepped up to the plate and donated to this park as well, including DWB Consulting, Hart Drugs, Heart to Hart Preschool and Out of School Care, Fresno Construction, G. Morrow Contracting, ABC Recycling, Budget Brake and Muffler, Rolling Mix Concrete and the City of Prince George.
Besides hot dogs and hamburgers at the barbecue, there will be a treat table set up. It will be called “Candy for James.” All money from this table will go to James and his family, a young boy battling cancer who goes to the school.
There will be cake and Mandy Paavola from MP Make Up Artistry will be there, painting faces. It’s going to be a beautiful day to enjoy the park and barbecue.
