Twenty firefighters on scene at Lejac fire near Fraser Lake

The BC Wildfire Service is responding to a new wildfire 5 kilometers east of the community of Fraser Lake.

The Lejac fire, currently estimated at 100 hectares in size, is visible from Fraser Lake, Highway 16, and from nearby communities.

The Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako is in the process of implementing evacuation alerts and orders for some areas near the fire. Further info which will be posted to their website: www.RDBN.bc.ca

This fire is being managed by BC Wildfire Service personnel along with air support. Twenty firefighters will remain on scene throughout the night.
