Prince George RCMP arrested three people following report of shots being fired from a vehicle in the early hours on Thursday near the corner of the John Hart Highway and Shady Lane.
The incident happened at about 3:20 a.m. The shots were reportedly coming from a vehicle driving southbound on the highway. A description of the vehicle was provided to police.
Approximately 10 minutes later, the suspect vehicle was located near the intersection of 15th Avenue and Alward Street in Prince George. Officers detained the three adult occupants, two men and a woman, as part of the investigation. A search warrant was obtained and executed on the vehicle and a loaded handgun was found.
The 19-year-old female driver, 35-year-old male passenger and 32-year-old male passenger were arrested for firearms related offences and held in custody overnight.
No clear target of this shooting has been located. Officers are continuing to investigate and are seeking the public’s help.
