Spring has arrived and the 42nd Northern BC Home & Garden Show, sponsored by the Canadian Home Builders’, takes place at Exhibition Park in Prince George this weekend.
“Whether you are looking to update your living space with a fresh coat of paint, or have a looming maintenance project on the radar to replace sagging fencing, a peeling patio, tired flooring or siding, leaky windows or a sketchy roof, we have gathered the experts at exhibition park this weekend,” said Executive Officer, Terri McConnachie, in a news release. “Perhaps you need help planning for a kitchen or bathroom renovation or are looking to build your dream home. We have designers, renovators and builders on site and ready to help.”

A She-Shed custom built by Copper Falls Custom Homes and sponsored by Central Builders’, is a space for her to unwind and recharge. Space for garden tools, of course, but also a bistro table, wine, special coffee and delightful extras including spa treatments and theatre tickets.
Rona has donated an Outdoor Living package which includes a barbecue, patio furniture, outdoor heating – there may even be a lawn mower in there, valued at $5,000. Canadian Tire and Atmosphere have teamed up to generously sponsor an Outdoor Leisure package featuring camping gear including a Yeti cooler, kayaks and cool items to get you outdoors and keep active.
Get your tickets for the Birdhouse Contest and vote for the Best in Show and while you are there, vote for the winner of the Crappy Couch Contest. Pictures of the ten crappiest couches in town are on display and the lucky winner will earn a new couch set valued at $2,000, provided by Ashely Home Store.
Take in the final day of the Home Show on Sunday April 28 on a full tummy, and join in the pancake breakfast hosted by the Canadian Home Builders’ Board of Directors, between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. The breakfast is free but does not include admission.
The Canadian Home Builders’ Association Northern BC has been building communities for more the 60 years and the Home Show is an annual event hosted by the association to kick off spring and the busy construction season.
