One injured during home invasion

Police are asking for the public’s help following a home invasion yesterday afternoon.

At approximately 5:30 p.m., Prince George RCMP officers responded to a report of a home invasion assault at an address in the Pineview area of Prince George.  Initial indications are that a man entered the residence, assaulted the lone adult male occupant, and then fled the scene.

Officers attended the area including a police dog service team.  The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and was knocked out during the incident.  As a result, investigators believe that a time delay occurred before police were called.  The suspect was not located.

The suspects is described as:

  • First Nations male
  • 183 cm (6’0″)
  • 113 kgs (250 lbs)
  • Black messy hair with some facial hair
  • Wearing black sunglasses, a dark hoody, cargo pants and a large backpack

The victim was assessed by paramedics and declined transportation to hospital.  Although the motive for this incident is not yet known, it is possible that the suspect broke into the residence and was startled by the victim.

If you have any information about this incident, please contact the Prince George RCMP at (250)561-3300 or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1(800)222-8477 or online at www.pgcrimestoppers.bc.ca (English only).  You do not have to reveal your identity to Crime Stoppers.  If you provide information that leads to an arrest, you could be eligible for a cash reward.
